As many who have already downloaded the official iTunes Festival app have pointed out, it appears Apple is restricting the live-streams for this year’s event to iTunes and the Apple TV, using the app as simply a redirection tool to guide those interested in the festival to iTunes.
While that may be the case, (we’ll know more once the second night of streams goes live, later tonight), those in both the U.S and Australia looking to tune-in to the music festival’s acts from either their iPhone, (or iPad), can now take advantage of a brand new station – on iTunes Radio.
iTunes Festival London LIVE will provide a live, high-fidelity audio stream for each night of the 30-day music festival, to listeners. After that night’s acts have finished performing on stage, the station will then – for a limited-time – serve as the only place where you can catch a full, ad-free ‘replay’ of the previous night’s exclusive live performances.
Sidenote: You can now re-watch Deadmau5′s opening night performance, here.
